Free Clinic for World Lymphedema Day

March 6th is World Lymphedema Day. Under the theme of "Defining Life Not by Swelling, Restarting Life for Health", the multidisciplinary experts from Peking University Shenzhen Hospital will hold a free public welfare clinic, providing the public with professional assessment, consultation, as well as guidance on the prevention and management of lymphedema.

In 2022, PUSH established the subspecialty of Lymphatic Surgery. In June 2025, it further set up the first Microsurgery and Lymphatic Surgery Diagnosis and Treatment Center in South China, and constructed a Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) model consisting of micro-lymphatic surgery, medical imaging, ultrasonic imaging, sports medicine and rehabilitation medicine center, etc. Adopting internationally advanced lymphatic and vascular localization techniques and super-microsurgical lymphaticovenous anastomosis, the hospital offers one-stop, international, systematic diagnosis and treatment for lymphedema patients, provides the service covering the entire cycle of "prevention - accurate diagnosis - multi-dimensional assessment - personalized treatment - rehabilitation guidance - follow-up".

It is reported that the hospital has performed more than 1,000 lymphedema surgeries in total from 2023 to 2025, ranking among the top in China in terms of surgical volume, and bringing the hope of recovery to numerous patients suffering from lymphedema.

In addition, the center has accepted more than 30 international visiting physicians for advanced training. Hailing from countries across Europe, South America, North America, Africa, Asia and other regions, their presence is a true reflection of the internationalization of the Microsurgical and Lymphatic Surgery Center at Peking University Shenzhen Hospital.
